Emergency Management Specialist (Direct Hire)

Job Description

You will serve as the Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) Emergency Manager leading all emergency preparedness planning, training, and exercising for all hazards for all WFF personnel. You will develop and maintain a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and be responsible for the daily operation, readiness, and maintenance of the WFF Emergency Operations Center (EOC) facility and appointed personnel.
Qualifications:
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Implementing a comprehensive disaster/emergency management program utilizing mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery; Coordinating functions designed to improve emergency management capabilities; and Implementing segments of disaster/emergency management program goals and objectives. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Overseeing a comprehensive disaster/emergency management program utilizing mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery; Planning and coordinating functions designed to improve emergency management capabilities; and Implementing disaster/emergency management program goals and objectives.
