JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician of Aleut Real Estate (ARE) will ensure seamless operation and maintenance of all properties including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling and other building systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Embrace the mission, values, and strategic goals of The Aleut Corporation (Aleut) and ARE. Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards. Respond to repair requests in a timely manner, addressing urgent issues promptly. Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, examples: repairing drywall, painting, doors, and other building fixtures. Manage minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Assist with renovations and improvements to enhance property aesthetics and functionality. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of supplies. Perform routine maintenance of facilities. Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs. Collaborate with property management to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail. Good interpersonal and public contact skills. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff of Aleut and affiliated-company employees; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others. Good organizational skills. Attention to detail. Ability to solve problems and exercise good judgement. Ability to work independently as well as on a team. Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and blueprints.
MINIMUM QAULIFICATOINS
High School Diploma or equivalent Two (2) years of maintenance experience. Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs regularly. Standing and walking for long periods of time. Climbing ladders and stairs. Use hands to operate tools and controls. Bending, stretching, and crouching.
