The Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will work closely with members of the school leadership team to provide a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for learning and teaching. To accomplish this aim, the Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will oversee the maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment; ensuring that they are in a condition compliant with legal requirements and that enables full educational use. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will oversee the School's safety, security, and housekeeping programs. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will further assist in preparation and execution of long-range plans for School construction, remodeling, and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The following are the requirements for the position: Responsibilities Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is responsible for all duties necessary for the protection of the property and resources of the school and ensuring the safety of all users. This includes preventative and daily maintenance of facilities and grounds, timely inspection, reporting and correction of hazardous conditions, and ensuring for effective response to secure the safety of faculty, staff, students, and visitors in the event of an emergency. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is expected to keep current in knowledge of theory, principles, practices, techniques, and legal aspects of school operation to maintain high standards of excellence and safety in the maintenance of the facility. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is responsible for all duties necessary for the safe and effective operation of the Department of Facilities and Safety including management of maintenance and safety personnel (interviewing, hiring recommendations, training, scheduling, evaluations, etc.) and maximizing the efficiency of the workforce to meet operational requirements to enable full educational use. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is responsible for managing the school's procurement system, including submitting requests for proposals (RFPs), soliciting bids/estimates, evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is responsible for all duties related to the fiscal management and risk management of the Facilities Department including establishing and monitoring maintenance and construction project budgets and forecast spending to ensure that allocations are in compliance and within budgetary limits, maintenance of required files and drawings, preparation of bid packages for equipment, supplies, and materials, procurement of equipment, supplies, materials to maintain appropriate inventory and availability, and verifying that terms of all contracts have been fulfilled before authorizing pay requests. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is responsible for developing administrative guidelines for maintenance services, establishing a maintenance request system, and for coordinating timely and effective response to maintenance requests from faculty and staff. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will assist in the planning, and is responsible for coordinating and ensuring compliance of School improvement and renovation work. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will monitor and track all inventory for the school Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will serve as lead to the Building and Grounds Committee while preparing agendas and reports. Qualifications Facilities and Campus Safety Manager is required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will have general knowledge and experience with all school environments equipment and supplies. Facilities and Campus Safety Manager will be: Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and/or Google Suite; Proficient in general understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within a school, i.e. HVAC, CCTV, fire alarm, elevator, access/safety control, phone, keying and key fob; Must be able to effectively communicate in English; Knowledge of school operations is a plus.
