Job Description
Are you someone who is hands-on and experienced in building and grounds maintenance? Hines Building Maintenance (HBM) is looking for a skilled Facilities Manager with maintenance experience and great communication skills to service an independent private school. The Facilities Manager oversees the building and grounds maintenance of the campus, including custodial and safety functions. Additionally, ensuring that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures. This is both an administrative maintenance role and hands-on facilities duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilities Management Responsible for implementing and/or successfully maintaining the client's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Uses independent judgment in significant matters when coordinating and planning for inspections, recommend repairs and improvements for the school's facilities and grounds to maintain healthy and safe environments for students, staff, and the community. Represent the school in day-to-day contacts with contractors, architects, and engineers in connection with facility renovations and construction. Plan and direct the building services, including custodial, building maintenance and grounds maintenance. Develop and administer a preventative maintenance program for equipment as needed Work collaboratively with building administrators and staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for all students and staff. Conducts regular building inspections for safety, repair quality cleaning standards and procedure compliance, coordinates in inspections by insurance companies, fire and police departments, and health department. Coordinates and oversees event set-ups. Indoor room set-up and outdoor set-up and tear downs for events. Hands on support of maintenance staff duties and everyday maintenance activities Leadership Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Supervisory responsibilities including interviews, hires, discipline, termination, and training new staff. Responsible for the evaluation of maintenance staff, energy manager, evening custodial supervisor, day porter, grounds, and office staff. Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities): 8+ years of experience in building maintenance. 3+ years of experience managing or supervising a team. Demonstrates high level of leadership and communication. Ability to multi-task and work on competing projects Working knowledge of principles and practices related to the management of maintenance, custodial, warehouse, and landscape activities. Working knowledge of HVAC units, electrical, grounds care, and plumbing Has a working knowledge of all applicable CAL-OSHA, ASHRAE, and EPA regulations that apply to the Facilities and Maintenance Department of schools Ability to lead and oversee a facilities maintenance program, including but not limited to: interior and exterior building systems, interior and exterior utility systems and infrastructure including power generation, landscape infrastructure, and custodial maintenance. Experience with technology including email, spreadsheets, Google suite. Preferred education and experience Bachelors Degree in related field, PMP, CFM or similar certificaiton. Bilingual inSpanish and English Physical Requirements:
