This is a 16-hour/week, part-time, work-trade for housing position. Ideally, hours to be worked will be M-F, but some flexibility may exist for weekend hours. This position reports to the Facilities Team Manager (FTM). Work under this contract will fall into one of two categories: Work-trade (16 hours/wk) Potential for contracted paid work either at an agreed-upon hourly rate, or within a specific budget for materials & labor. Capital Projects (Barn build, Housing builds, etc.) As needed facilities, events or other tasks
Term of Contract:
This contract will operate on a quarterly (3-month) basis, with automatic renewal unless terminated by either party. Vida Verde will make every effort to give as much notice as possible, ideally no less than two weeks, if the contract will not be renewed.
WORK REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
Below are examples, but not completely inclusive of tasks. Work outside on the farm, weeding, watering, planting, trapping gophers Milk the goats, collect chicken eggs, clean the coop & stalls, purchase feed and town errands Property maintenance, mowing & landscaping Painting and staining, planing and sanding wood Miscellaneous tasks here, there, and everywhere to keep our camp in good shape for the campers

Physical stamina to perform difficult tasks for multiple hours Ability to lift 50lbs to chest height Ability to squat, stoop, stand and perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time Ability to receive and respond to directions, written and spoken in English Ability to receive and give feedback in a way that demonstrates respect for your peers and supervisors Skillful at working both independently and as part of a team Enjoy working outdoors Positive Attitude, organized, with an attention-to-detail Comfort and/or excitement in working with goats/chickens

Facilities:
Experience successfully growing food or managing a garden Animal husbandry experience Light carpentry - skill w/ power tools Vehicle maintenance experience Site maintenance experience (repairing fencing, pest control, irrigation, animal husbandry, vehicles, farm tools, well systems etc.) Non-expired CA driver's license
Compensation:
This is a 16 hour/week, part-time role in exchange for housing. For the right applicant, in addition to the work-trade for housing, paid hours may be available (pay rate TBD based on experience and qualifications). Working these extra hours is not guaranteed. Spacious private bedroom with closet, shared use of kitchen, living room and bonus room, laundry machines, deck and yard When available, shared food from the garden, eggs from the chickens, milk from the goats. Access to community hot tub, trail, and creek in a secluded rural setting
