Facilities Technician -

Part Time Location:

San Jose, CA (Onsite)

Schedule:

Tuesday-Thursday 9-5pm Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on individual to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of our facility. This role is critical in ensuring building systems operate at peak efficiency and remain in full compliance with all regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational Oversight:

Schedule and oversee routine maintenance for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, and general construction); conduct frequent inspections to identify issues and ensure operational integrity.

Safety & Compliance:

Implement and enforce workplace safety policies; a part of the company safety committee and ensure full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors, including oversight of maintenance work and pest control.

Specialized Environment Care:

Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation; manage specialized equipment including generators and cold temperature storage systems ( -80°C, -20°C, and 2-8°C ).

Emergency Response:

could be a point of contact for security, safety, and facility-related emergencies.

Documentation:

Maintain precise logs of all inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.

Qualifications Technical Expertise:

Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, architecture, and construction.

Specialized Experience:

Proven experience managing cold-chain storage and critical infrastructure (generators, etc.).

Management Skills:

Exceptional project management, negotiation, and vendor oversight abilities.

Financial Literacy:

Strong math and analytical skills for complex budgeting and cost-saving initiatives.

Soft Skills:

High-level problem-solving abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Availability:

Must be able to work onsite daily during standard business hours with a readiness to "jump in" as needed.

Education and Experience Experience:

3 years of direct experience in facilities,

Industry Background:

Previous experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industries is strongly preferred. 6 months could extend or convert to perm

Pay:

$26-$35/hr.

Pay:

$26.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 per week
