This position is responsible for performing a variety of labor, material handling, waste processing, and facility support duties in a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will work with both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Work Schedule:
Multiple schedule options available. 1st Shift (4:00 AM
  • 12:30 PM), 2nd Shift (12:00 PM
  • 8:30 PM), & 3rd Shift (8:00 PM
  • 4:30 AM).
Overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs; however, overtime is not guaranteed.
Hourly Wage:
$22.00/HR + based on experience
Working Environment:
This position is based at a medical waste treatment facility . Employees will work in an industrial environment where medical waste is received, processed, and handled in accordance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. Due to the nature of the work, the facility can be odorous , and employees should be comfortable working in this environment. To work in designated processing areas, employees are required to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination as part of the onboarding process. Key Responsibilities:
Handle, sort, move, and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials Perform waste container handling, staging, labeling, and inventory activities Load and unload materials and containers in accordance with company procedures Inspect containers and work areas to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements Operate equipment and tools as trained and authorized Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility Assist with facility operations and general labor activities as assigned Lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials, containers, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Follow all company, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and site-specific safety requirements Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties Work safely in an industrial environment with exposure to strong odors and waste materials What does it take to work at Clean Harbors?
Required:
Ability to work safely in an industrial environment Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to wear required PPE, including a respirator Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and work on feet for extended periods throughout the shift Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work any assigned shift
Preferred:
Previous medical waste processing and/or autoclave experience is a BIG plus
