$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually, depending on qualifications and experience Join Our Team at Heather Gardens Heather Gardens Association is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and service-focused Clubhouse Manager to provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for our Clubhouse operations, recreation programming, resident services, staff, facilities, and related administrative functions. The Clubhouse Manager plays a key leadership role in creating a welcoming, organized, safe, financially responsible, and engaging environment that supports the recreational, social, educational, and wellness interests of Heather Gardens residents. This position reports directly to the General Manager and provides leadership to the Clubhouse team, including the Clubhouse Assistant Manager, Recreation Coordinator, Activities Coordinator, Clubhouse Associates, instructors, and other assigned personnel. What You'll Do As Clubhouse Manager, you will: Provide overall leadership and direction for Clubhouse operations, programs, personnel, and resident services. Recruit, select, onboard, train, supervise, coach, and develop Clubhouse employees in partnership with Human Resources. Establish clear expectations, work standards, procedures, schedules, and accountability for Clubhouse staff. Conduct performance evaluations and address employee performance, attendance, conduct, and training needs. Ensure appropriate staffing and supervisory coverage for regular operations, evenings, weekends, holidays, programs, and special events. Direct the day-to-day operation of the Clubhouse and ensure services are delivered efficiently, professionally, and consistently. Establish and maintain operating procedures, service standards, opening and closing procedures, emergency procedures, rental practices, and internal controls. Coordinate facility needs, repairs, room readiness, safety concerns, access, and building operations with Maintenance, Custodial, Security, and other departments. Oversee swimming pools and other recreational facilities assigned to the Clubhouse department. Provide strategic oversight of recreation programs, activities, classes, trips, clubs, special events, and other community offerings. Evaluate programming based on resident interests, participation, feedback, cost, operational feasibility, and overall community value. Oversee resident clubs, instructors, facilitators, entertainers, vendors, and other individuals supporting Clubhouse programs. Review new program, class, activity, entertainment, trip, and event proposals. Ensure program calendars, room scheduling, registrations, and activity information are accurate and coordinated. Provide overall direction for the Clubhouse portion of the Heather Gardens Activity Guide and related program communications. Maintain a visible, approachable presence and build productive relationships with residents, clubs, volunteers, instructors, employees, and community partners. Respond to and resolve escalated resident concerns involving Clubhouse operations, programs, staff, room use, activities, or services. Develop, administer, and monitor Clubhouse operating and capital budgets. Monitor program revenue, payroll, contracts, supplies, instructors, events, and departmental expenses. Maintain appropriate financial controls for registrations, refunds, activities, classes, events, cash handling, deposits, and other Clubhouse transactions. Provide management oversight of ActiveNet and other Clubhouse systems used for scheduling, registration, payment processing, room reservations, and resident services. Review contracts, proposals, purchasing requests, and vendor relationships. Prepare reports, recommendations, budget information, participation data, and operational updates. Develop short- and long-range goals for Clubhouse operations and programming. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, resident service, programming, communication, space utilization, internal controls, and departmental operations. Serve as the staff liaison to the Clubhouse Committee and participate in management meetings, committees, workgroups, planning activities, and special projects as assigned. What We're Looking For Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure studies, hospitality, business administration, public administration, community services, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and progressively responsible experience may be considered. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in recreation, community programming, hospitality, facility operations, resident services, or a related environment. Demonstrated supervisory or management experience required. Experience working within an active adult, senior living, recreation district, HOA, community association, municipal recreation, hospitality, or similar environment preferred. Experience managing budgets, staff, programs, events, and facility operations strongly preferred. 2026_Clubhouse Manager The Successful Candidate Will Bring Strong leadership, supervisory, coaching, and employee-development skills. The ability to establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance and service standards. Strong knowledge of recreation, activities, events, and community programming. Understanding of facility operations, room scheduling, event logistics, and public-facing service environments. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Budget-management and basic financial-reporting knowledge. Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work effectively with employees, residents, volunteers, instructors, committees, vendors, and community partners. Professionalism when addressing sensitive, difficult, or emotionally charged situations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively use recreation-management, registration, scheduling, and other business software. ActiveNet experience preferred. Knowledge of basic safety, emergency, first-aid, and risk-management practices. An understanding of the recreational, social, and service needs of mature adults.
