TIME POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager on Duty is a key member of the facility operations team and oversees business operations while ensuring the facility functions smoothly, safely, and productively throughout their shifts. They are the "go to" person in the building and are the management representative to all members and guests, primarily on nights and weekends. Their duties include delivering exceptional customer service to all members and guests, reviewing the daily schedule of events and setting-up/breaking down the various areas within the building to accommodate, delegating tasks to team members, balancing the cash register, and coordinating employee responsibilities to uphold the facility brand and cleanliness standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
Facilitate clear and effective communication between employees and different departments through the use of walkie talkies and consistent building tours and check-ins Use the daily Venue Report to plan and prioritize shift duties Lead and direct Facility Operations staff to accomplish cleaning duties according to the Daily Cleaning Schedule and other tasks as needed Ensure all members, clients, and guests check-in at the front desk properly Use program rosters to manage check-in of program participants and verify proper payment Set-up and breakdown spaces/surfaces for events and activities according to the daily Venue Report When closing the facility, prepare for the following day's opening activities by setting-up spaces as needed Maintain facility brand by routinely sweeping front entrance, Fieldhouse, Turf, Lobby, and restrooms/locker rooms Proactively respond to walk-ins or call-ins by answering questions regarding memberships, rentals, and programs Ensure daily logs, sheets, and reports are printed and in use, and submitted correctly at the end of shift Maintain building security by properly locking doors and setting alarm
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred Interest in Sports & Recreation is a plus Certification for CPR and First Aid required within (1) month of hire Must be available to work a flexible schedule; a combination of days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer
  • Facility has intermittent noise
