Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Manager for a growing manufacturing company located in South Windsor, CT. The ideal candidate will oversee all maintenance activities for facilities and equipment, lead the maintenance team, and ensure that production equipment functions safely, reliably, and efficiently. Principal Duties Supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians and support staff. Coordinate and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks. Manage upkeep of production machinery, facility systems, utilities, and auxiliary equipment. Minimize equipment downtime by identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures. Create maintenance schedules that align with production demands. Administer the computerized maintenance management system, work orders, maintenance records, and spare parts inventory. Establish and monitor maintenance performance metrics, such as downtime, response time, preventive maintenance completion, and equipment reliability. Organize equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and capital improvement projects. Maintain relationships with external contractors, equipment vendors, and service providers. Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, environmental standards, and relevant laws. Support initiatives for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction. Develop and oversee operating and capital budgets for the maintenance department. Collaborate with leaders in production, engineering, quality, and operations. Provide technical support when complex equipment issues arise. Requirements Preferably a Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, facilities management, or a related field. Minimum of five years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory maintenance role. Proficient in developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Adept at troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment. Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery, industrial controls, HVAC, compressors, boilers, and facility systems is advantageous. Familiarity with using a CMMS or similar maintenance management software. Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Working understanding of OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial safety practices. Desired Qualifications Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional or equivalent. Experience overseeing capital projects and equipment installations.
