Exempt Job Summary The Facility Supervisor is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, upkeep, safety, and regulatory compliance of the cultivation and processing facility. This role supervises maintenance technicians while actively participating in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and other facility maintenance activities. The Facility Supervisor works closely with the Facility Manager and cross-functional departments to ensure building systems—including HVAC, dehumidification, electrical, plumbing, and irrigation—operate safely and reliably. This position provides daily direction to the maintenance team while working alongside employees to maintain a safe, sanitary, compliant, and efficient facility. Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Building Systems Actively perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections alongside the maintenance team. Maintain HVAC, dehumidification, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and other critical facility systems. Conduct routine facility and grounds inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment issues, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement. Administer the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including work orders, asset history, and preventive maintenance schedules. Coordinate with Procurement to maintain appropriate equipment, parts, supplies, spare parts, and tools. Coordinate work performed by external contractors and specialized service providers as directed by the Facility Manager. Ensure maintenance activities do not create contamination, sanitation, pest-control, or product-quality risks within cultivation and processing areas. Team Leadership & Hands-On Support Supervise maintenance technicians, including daily work assignments, scheduling, training, performance management, and adherence to safety and operational procedures. Work directly alongside maintenance technicians to complete maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, installations, and other facility-related tasks as needed. Provide hands-on coaching, technical guidance, and support to maintenance employees. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of maintenance staff in collaboration with the Facility Manager and Human Resources. Monitor work quality and completion to ensure maintenance activities are performed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Partner with Cultivation, Security, and other departments to minimize maintenance-related disruptions to operations. Escalate significant equipment failures, facility concerns, repair needs, and operational risks to the Facility Manager. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable state cannabis regulations and local building, fire, environmental, security, and access-control requirements. Maintain OSHA-compliant safety protocols and participate in facility safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Establish and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, ladder safety, contractor safety, and other maintenance-related safety procedures, particularly when servicing equipment with hazardous energy. Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable state and local regulations. Support facility emergency response activities related to power loss, HVAC failure, equipment failure, security incidents, and other facility-related emergencies. Documentation & Maintenance Performance Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment manuals, inspection reports, permits, warranties, service agreements, and compliance documentation. Track maintenance performance indicators, including equipment downtime, preventive maintenance completion, recurring repairs, response times, and maintenance costs. Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions or improvements to the Facility Manager. Use maintenance data and trends to improve equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and overall facility performance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of facility maintenance experience, preferably in a regulated industry, plus 2+ years supervising technical or maintenance staff; cannabis cultivation/processing experience preferred. Knowledge of HVAC, dehumidification, AC power distribution, electrical/plumbing troubleshooting, blueprints, and mechanical/electrical schematics; CMMS and
OSHA 10/30
certification preferred. Strong organizational, problem-solving, safety, compliance, and cross-functional skills; must be 21+, able to work independently, willing to learn cannabis regulations, and meet required state background check and licensing/badging requirements. Benefits & Compensation Compensation:
$65,000 - $70,000 /
