Role Overview:
Our Facility Manager will work with our onsite Facility team to oversee our Dragons Elite Athletics sites and grounds, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and well-maintained by managing budgets, staff, contractors, maintenance, and compliance with regulations, focusing on both daily operations and long-term strategic planning for capital projects and sustainability. This role requires the Manager to travel from facility to facility, as needed within the South Florida area during the week and occasionally on weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance:
Prepares specifications for capital projects, including opening and retrofitting existing facilities. Estimates costs of equipment, materials, labor, and supplies; prepares bid specifications for projects, equipment, and contracted services; oversees site and building projects performed by outside contractors. Direct daily operations, preventative maintenance, repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), cleaning, and groundskeeping.
Project Plan Management :
Project plan management with our Project management office as needed, and coordinate finishing and design elements with our Chief Design office and executives of Elite and Academy.
Budget & Finance:
Develop and manage facility budgets and negotiate vendor contracts.
Safety & Compliance:
Serves as administrator responsible for facility safety ensure adherence to health, and environmental regulations (OSHA, ADA), manage risk, and develop emergency plans.
Staff & Vendor Management:
Supervise facilities staff, provide training, and manage external contractors. Directs, schedules, and oversees external contractors (electricians, plumbers, excavators, roofers, painters, landscapers, etc.).
Strategic Planning:
Plan for future facility needs, including renovations, expansions, certifications, licensing, inspections, all steps required to launch a new facility and sustainability initiatives.
Space Management:
Coordinate space planning and workplace optimization. Core Skills & Qualifications Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and facility systems. Budgeting and financial management expertise. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially during emergencies. Minimum Qualifications This role requires the Manager to travel from facility to facility within the South Florida area during the week and occasionally on weekends as needed. Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, building trades, or related field (demonstrated applicable experience may be considered instead of education) and; Five or more years of progressively more responsible experience in facility management and maintenance, with three or more years of supervisory experience or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with operations and executive management, and facility managers and stakeholders.
