Job Description

Department Facilities Management Job Summary This leader has accountability and oversight, and supervises the daily activities of the Facilities Management department. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual and team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals. Required Qualifications
  • Require a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in engineering/facility management, which can include previous management of projects and personnel in the healthcare field or trade related areas.
  • Require an Associate's degree; Three (3) years of relevant leadership experience in engineering/facility management can be substituted for the required degree.
  • Require a valid/active driver's license. Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer knowledge of building operation services, equipment, controls and systems as they pertain to medical complexes.
  • Prefer ability to utilize managerial directives, concepts and problem solving techniques in conjunction with ethical and financial objectives.
  • Prefer knowledge of cost accounting, projects cost analysis and work scheduling principles.
  • Prefer knowledge of facility management, hospital standards and building codes and preventive maintenance programs as they relate to operations and service.
  • Prefer ability to direct outside consultants in design, construction or renovation related activities.
  • Prefer proficiency with the use of personal computers and software programs as they relate to facility planning, project management and scheduling, budget and cost accounting, spreadsheet formatting, document development, local and Internet data access and communication.
  • Prefer demonstrated understanding of current codes applicable to field and industry.
  • Prefer demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Prefer demonstrated knowledge of hand tools pertinent to trade(s).
  • Prefer ability to direct, manage and coordinate staff in all aspects of a health care facilities management.
