This role is designed for a motivated professional with experience or education in construction management, engineering, facilities, or project management who is interested in growing into broader facilities leadership. Under the mentorship of the Director of Facilities and the Senior Vice President of Operations, you will gain exposure to all facets of managing a large-scale facilities organization, including 30+ showrooms and 4 distribution/warehouse locations across Florida. This is a high-visibility developmental role. You will rotate through regional facilities teams, including South/Miami, Tampa/North Florida, Orlando/North Central Florida, and Broward/Palm Beach/Vero, gaining experience in project execution, vendor management, compliance, budgeting, and team leadership. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Facilities Department at CITY.

  • 70,000 What You'll Do… As a Facilities Manager in Training, your primary responsibilities will be to: Construction & Project Management Support (30%) Support the Director and Regional Facilities Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing capital improvement, renovation, and construction projects across showrooms and warehouse facilities.
Track project timelines, budgets, milestones, and contractor performance using project management tools such as Procore, MS Project, Trello, or similar platforms. Develop the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, scopes of work, and construction documents. Assist with procurement and coordination of contractors, materials, equipment, and project-related services. Facilities Operations & Maintenance (25%) Shadow and support Regional Facilities Managers across South Florida, Tampa/North Florida, Orlando/North Central Florida, and Broward/Palm Beach/Vero regions. Learn day-to-day operations of a multi-site facilities department, including preventive maintenance programs, CMMS management, work order systems, and service prioritization. Gain exposure to building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, lighting, life safety, and general facility infrastructure. Safety & Code Compliance Support (15%) Support facilities leadership in maintaining adherence to OSHA, local building codes, fire safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Participate in site inspections, safety walks, compliance audits, and follow-up action tracking. Learn how compliance requirements impact facilities planning, maintenance, vendor coordination, and project execution. Vendor & Contractor Management (10%) Learn vendor qualification, bidding, scope review, service agreement, and contract management processes. Budget & Reporting Exposure (10%) Support annual budget planning, expense tracking, and CAPEX reporting under Director guidance. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, project updates, and status summaries for facilities leadership and senior leadership. Energy, Sustainability & Efficiency (5%) Participate in energy audits, efficiency initiatives, and cost-saving opportunities across the facilities portfolio. Gain exposure to Building Automation Systems, energy monitoring tools, utility usage reporting, and related efficiency programs. Hurricane Preparedness & Emergency Response (5%) Assist with hurricane preparation, emergency response protocols, business continuity planning, and post-event recovery coordination. Adheres to all assigned Standard Work and Role and Responsibilities for your role. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, beyond those listed in the responsibilities. Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree required — preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field 0-3 years of professional experience in construction, project management, facilities, or a related field (internship and co-op experience counts) Demonstrated academic or internship experience managing projects, timelines, and budgets
Work Environment & Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with flexibility for project needs Up to 50% statewide travel across Florida showrooms and warehouse locations during rotation periods
Physical Requirements:
Walking and standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and performing site inspections Ability to lift items up to 25 lbs.
Technology Requirements:
