Facilities Associate - Custodial (Part-Time, Evenings, Weekend) Des Moines Performing Arts - 4.8 Des Moines, IA Job Details Part-time $16.65 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Removing debris Floor cleaning Equipment repair Service scheduling Mechanical repair Maintenance painting Cleaning (upholstery maintenance) Window cleaning Carpet vacuuming Event setup Restroom cleaning Facilities routine maintenance Light bulb replacement Routine maintenance projects Entry level Air conditioning Cleaning and sanitation supply management Full Job Description The primary objective of this role is to assist in maintaining facility operational efficiency, cleanliness, and appearance of all Des Moines Performing Arts facilities. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Position is approximately 20-25 hours a week (sometimes more) and requires some nights/weekends. Most hours are early to mid-day hours. Uniform is provided. Pay is $16.65/hour.
Perform general maintenance tasks:
replacement of light bulbs, cleaning and upkeep of mechanical and storage areas, repair of equipment, scheduling trash services, painting, transmitting information to vendors and service providers, and monitoring the HVAC system. Perform vacuuming and shampooing of carpeted areas, dusting, and cleaning hard-to-reach surfaces, stripping and resealing in concession stands, dressing rooms, studio, mechanical, and other spaces. Perform spot-cleaning of carpets and upholstery, window washing, removing trash and debris from exterior areas. Clean event-related areas including the performance spaces, lobbies and restrooms, concessions and service spaces, backstage restrooms and dressing rooms after each event along. Assign and monitor final touchups of spaces before the next event. Perform daily cleaning of office areas. Under instruction, perform furniture set-ups in studio, lobbies and meeting rooms as needed for events. Monitor facilities supply inventory including paper products and cleaning chemicals. Replace and update as needed. Other duties as assigned. Seeking conscientious individual who takes pride in their work. Post-offer, pre-employment background check is required.
