Job Description

Position Overview Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Lab Operations & Facilities Specialist to support the day-to-day management of laboratory materials, equipment, inventory, and facility operations. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and enjoys building processes, coordinating across teams, and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring laboratory resources, equipment, and facilities remain compliant, operational, and ready to support ongoing business activities. Key Responsibilities Manage the receipt, inspection, labeling, storage, movement, and disposition of laboratory materials and supplies. Maintain accurate inventory records, including lot traceability, expiration dates, storage locations, and associated documentation. Establish and maintain inventory controls such as reorder points, cycle counts, shortage monitoring, and expiration management. Coordinate equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, repairs, qualifications, and vendor service activities. Maintain equipment service schedules and proactively address upcoming maintenance requirements. Ensure equipment records, service documentation, certificates, and maintenance files are accurate and properly maintained. Coordinate facility-related activities, including repairs, vendor visits, building services, and operational support needs. Maintain organized laboratory, storage, receiving, and equipment areas following established procedures and best practices. Partner with technical, quality, engineering, and project teams to support operational readiness and material planning. Develop and improve operational processes, tracking systems, logs, metrics, and work instructions. Support audits, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Track tasks through completion and communicate risks, priorities, and project status to stakeholders. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in laboratory operations, inventory management, materials control, equipment coordination, facilities support, manufacturing operations, or a related field. Experience working in a regulated, controlled, or quality-focused environment. Ability to independently manage assigned processes and implement sustainable process improvements. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent follow-through. Experience managing inventory records, lot tracking, expiration control, and related documentation. Experience coordinating equipment maintenance, calibration, or vendor service activities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and electronic inventory, maintenance, ERP, QMS, or related systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize work effectively and escalate issues appropriately. Ability to work on-site in laboratory, storage, receiving, and office environments. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience within medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, laboratory services, manufacturing, aerospace, food production, or similarly regulated industries. Familiarity with c
GMP, ISO
standards, or other regulated quality systems. Experience supporting audits, CAPAs, investigations, nonconformances, or quality-related activities. Knowledge of Lean, 5S, Kanban, visual management, standard work, or continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, purchasing coordination, and warehouse operations.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
