Job Description
BAXTER seeks an Engineering Specialist, Facilities and Critical Systems to ensure safe, reliable operation of hospital infrastructure supporting life-sustaining therapies. In this role, you will monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and other critical systems, execute preventive and corrective maintenance, and respond to system alarms to minimize downtime. You'll support capital and improvement projects, coordinate vendors, and uphold rigorous safety and regulatory standards. Working in a mission-driven healthcare environment, you'll collaborate with clinical and operations teams to protect patients and staff while driving continuous improvement in facility performance. Responsibilities Monitor, operate, and maintain critical building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability of hospital facilities. Respond to system alarms, troubleshoot issues, and implement root cause corrective actions. Support facilities-related capital and improvement projects, including planning, commissioning, and documentation. Coordinate and oversee external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and compliance with standards. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and healthcare regulations and internal Baxter policies. Maintain accurate records in CMMS and prepare technical reports on system performance and incidents. Collaborate with clinical, operations, and EHS teams to align facility performance with patient care needs. Identify and implement opportunities for energy efficiency and continuous improvement in facility operations. Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response for critical system events.
