Facility Manager

Job Description

Job Overview Position Summary We're looking for a hands-on Facility Manager to oversee the physical operations of our craft cannabis cultivation center. This role owns facility maintenance and sanitation, keeps daily operations running smoothly, and communicates between our maintenance/sanitation teams, on-site vendors, and cultivation and extraction leadership. The ideal candidate has direct cultivation facility experience, a strong compliance mindset, and thrives as a problem-solver who can jump into whatever the day throws at them. Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Sanitation Directly supervise the sanitation team and maintenance personnel, setting priorities and daily/weekly task schedules Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, irrigation/fertigation, electrical, lighting, and building systems Ensure facility-wide sanitation standards meet state cannabis regulations and internal SOPs Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and facility issues quickly to minimize downtime Operations & Scheduling Manage daily operational scheduling across maintenance and sanitation staff Coordinate and supervise on-site vendors and contractors (repairs, pest control, waste management, equipment servicing, construction/build-outs, etc.) Track and manage facility-related purchase orders, inventory of maintenance supplies, and vendor relationships Maintain facility logs, maintenance records, and documentation required for audits Compliance Participate in and help lead internal compliance walks and mock inspections Ensure facility conditions align with state cannabis regulatory requirements at all times Partner with leadership to correct deficiencies quickly and implement preventive measures Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state/local cannabis facility regulations Cross-Functional Communication Serve as the primary point of contact between the facility team and the Director of Cultivation and Extraction Manager Communicate maintenance needs, vendor timelines, and facility risks proactively to leadership Support cultivation and extraction teams by ensuring the physical environment doesn't become a bottleneck to production Act as a general problem-solver — flexible, calm under pressure, and willing to roll up sleeves for whatever comes up
Qualifications Required:
Prior experience working in a licensed cannabis cultivation facility (indoor, greenhouse, or mixed-light) 2+ years in a facilities, maintenance, or operations management role, ideally within cannabis or a regulated/agricultural environment Working knowledge of state cannabis compliance requirements (e.g., METRC , sanitation standards, security requirements) Experience managing or supervising a team (maintenance, sanitation, custodial, or similar) Strong vendor management and negotiation skills Excellent communication skills — comfortable reporting to and coordinating with department directors Mechanically inclined; basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and irrigation systems a plus Ability to pass a background check and obtain any required state cannabis worker licensure/badge Must be 21+ (per state cannabis employment requirements) Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varied environmental conditions (humidity, temperature fluctuations typical of grow rooms) Comfortable working around plant material, including potential allergens

From $80,000.00 per year
