Overview The Special Projects & Utilities Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving the Company's facilities, utilities, equipment, and operational infrastructure, as well as managing special projects and improvement initiatives assigned by Executive Management. The position is expected to independently execute assigned work, coordinate internal personnel and external contractors, identify opportunities for operational improvement, and support the Company's objectives for efficiency, reliability, safety, and cost control .
Responsibilities:
1. Facilities, Utilities & Equipment — Maintain the condition, functionality, safety, and operational readiness of Company facilities, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure. 2. Preventive Maintenance — Plan, maintain, and execute preventive maintenance activities and address recurring equipment, facility, and utility issues. 3. Special Project Management — Plan, coordinate, execute, and complete projects assigned by Executive Management. 4. Contractor Management — Coordinate and monitor contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, properly, and according to requirements. 5. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving — Identify and resolve equipment, facility, utility, and operational problems and implement appropriate corrective actions. 6. Cost Control & Improvement — Control maintenance and project costs and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness. 7. Compliance & Documentation — Maintain required maintenance, project, equipment, and facility records and ensure compliance with Company requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations. 8. Management Reporting — Provide Executive Management with timely information regarding project status, maintenance conditions, risks, costs, and significant issue. 9. Additional Assignments — Perform other reasonable duties, projects, and responsibilities assigned by authorized Executive Management when required by business needs. The Specialist is expected to:
Develop skills beyond the primary function and support other departments when reasonably required by business needs. Participate in cross-functional projects, improvement activities, and Company-wide initiatives. Share technical knowledge and support cross-training where appropriate. Proactively identify issues affecting other departments and work cooperatively to develop practical solutions. Cross-functional contribution, flexibility, skill development, initiative, and successful completion of assigned projects may be considered as part of the employee's overall performance evaluation. When a cross-functional assignment conflicts with primary responsibilities, the employee is expected to communicate the conflict to the appropriate manager so that priorities can be established. Decision-Making Authority & Escalation The Special Projects & Utilities Specialist is expected to independently manage routine activities within established Company policies, procedures, budgets, and authority limits.
The Specialist is responsible for:
Making routine decisions regarding assigned work, schedules, methods, and resources. Coordinating internal personnel, contractors, and service providers. Taking appropriate corrective action to prevent or minimize operational disruption.
Qualifications Industrial maintenance:
5+ years University/Graduate School diploma or equivalent professional experience Utilize strong knowledge of industrial, mechanical, construction, and electrical equipment Ability to implement operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives Capable of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and CAD software Coordinate with executive management 1. Required Experiences, Knowledge & Skills Required Experience Approximately 5 years or more of relevant industrial maintenance, facilities, utilities, equipment, or comparable technical experience. Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction, or comparable environment. Experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, or related technical work. Required Knowledge & Skills Working knowledge of industrial equipment, facilities, utilities, and related systems. Ability to troubleshoot problems, coordinate resources, and manage assigned work independently. Basic project coordination, documentation, communication, and computer skills. Preferred Experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, automation, robotics, construction, or related fields. Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or major service providers. Experience with continuous improvement or similar operational improvement activities.
