We are currently looking for Facilities Technician to join our growing team. This role will require use of personal vehicle to travel between our Residential locations (Somerville, Arlington, Cambridge, Wilmington, Waltham) and commercial properties (Medford, Bedford, Hyde Park). The Facilities Technician is expected to work a Monday through Friday schedule and limited on-call for emergencies may be required.
Job Duties:
Perform general and preventative maintenance. Repair and troubleshoot mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, and cooling systems and all related equipment as applicable. Perform general plumbing maintenance such as identifying leaks or breaks, open clogged lines and drains, and replace washers and other minor parts Perform basic electrical repairs such as wiring of switches, outlets, light fixtures, and plugs. Perform basic carpentry such as repairs to doors, locks, fences, gates, and window frames Replace commercial light bulbs above the head and inspect electrical systems for unsafe conditions Hang pictures, posters, bulletin boards, and shelving Complete all work necessary to return vacant units to their original state, such as patching holes and flooring, re-hanging doors, and ensuring that locks, appliances, kitchens, and bathrooms are in acceptable condition. Assist with snow removal and parking lot maintenance where necessary Assist with Housing Authority or Fire Department inspections Assist with moving of files, boxes & furniture as needed Remain current on all government laws, rules and regulations, WSC standards, licensing and accreditation agencies requirements pertaining to the position, and ensure regulatory compliance. Represents themselves and the property in a professional manner with residents, visitors, and other employees. Demonstrates good attendance and punctuality. Has good working relationship with peers: works collaboratively, helps co-workers, separates personal and work issues, and actively communicates with the team. Effectively responds to situations and seeks information and clarification when needed, and resolves conflicts in a productive manner. Performs other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned by supervisors or managementRequirements:
