Overview Join our dynamic team as a Multi-Family Assistant Facilities Manager and play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of residential facilities. You will be instrumental in managing day-to-day facilities operations, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to create a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff alike. Position Summary The Multi-Family Assistant Facilities Manager provides operational and administrative support to the Multi-Family Facilities Manager in the management of The Boston Land Company Management portfolio. This position helps ensure daily operational activities are conducted in accordance with established company standards, policies, and procedures. The role supports policy implementation, capital improvement initiatives, property oversight, and coordination across multiple company locations as operational needs require. Essential Functions
  • Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Multi-Family Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with the implementation of company policies, procedures, and physical plant standards.
  • Supervise and mentor building superintendents along with maintenance staff fostering teamwork and accountability in meeting established performance goals and service expectations.
  • Assist with oversight of building construction upgrades and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Review and update company facilities policies.
  • Monitor property-related financial performance and assist with facilities reporting as needed.
  • Conduct routine property inspections, resolve health, safety, and building code issues, evaluate building conditions, NSPIRE compliance, ensure property is following BLC company quality standards.
  • Communicate with property personnel, vendors, residents, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Review all bids and contracts, i.e., snow removal, landscaping, security cameras, elevator, for accurate specifications and make recommendations.
  • Review, implement and comply with Comprehensive Needs Assessments and other engineering reports concerning each property.
  • Travel to multiple communities within the BLC portfolio locations in
MA, NY, CT & DE
as required to support as needed the property.
  • Assist with negotiating and reviewing bulk utilities purchases, and antenna contracts.
  • Respond and facilitate repairs from property damage, i.e., insurance claims.
  • Respond to all building emergencies, in conjunction with the property superintendent.
  • Coverage/On call duties may be required when building staff are unavailable.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or senior staff Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of experience in property management, facility management, or a related field.
  • Associates degree required, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical knowledge related to construction.
  • Have an understanding of Lead Paint Laws, OSHA regulations, Asbestos Regulations and state Health and Sanitary Codes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, TEAMS and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal personnel, vendors, residents, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, including the ability to direct and support building staff.
  • Experience coordinating or managing capital construction projects.
  • Levelheaded, flexible, adaptable, and has good judgment.
  • Ability to make quick accurate decisions in a crisis.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • MUST have access to a reliable vehicle required.
Physical and Travel Requirements This position requires the ability to travel to multiple company locations using a reliable vehicle.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
