Oversees maintenance and security of facilities; oversees renovation projects and monitors work to improve energy efficiency, productivity or employee safety. May work in manufacturing and production, or manage hotels, small apartment buildings, trailer parks or recreational facilities.

Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The Facilities Director at the Jackson YMCA intentionally fosters a mission-driven culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also overseeing the maintenance and housekeeping aspects of YMCA facilities and vehicles.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in facility management or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 2. Three or more years of experience in facility management or a closely related field. 3. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. 4. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, housekeeping, and other related areas and associated equipment. 5. Skills in supervision and budget management. 6. CDL and Pool operator certifications required within 150 days of employment. 7. Ability to complete Boiler Operator or Stationary Engineer registration/license issued through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). 8. Ability to secure and/or current license to drive school buses with a driving record that meets YMCA standards. 9. Ability to be on call to respond to safety and emergencies at the facilities within 15 minutes. 10. Highly organized with a proficiency in computer software. Ability to solve problems and interact effectively with vendors, customers, and site visitors. 11. Begin to work towards YMCA Team Leader certification within the first year.
