This position is responsible for supervising custodial teams, maintaining service quality, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation requirements, and delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who supports employees, solves problems, and helps maintain a clean, safe environment for our customers. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Support Lead, coach, and support supervisors and custodial staff to achieve service goals. Provide employees with the supplies, tools, equipment, and training needed to perform their jobs successfully. Promote a positive team culture through effective communication, mentoring, and leadership. Assist with employee training, onboarding, and performance development. Conduct shift huddles and communicate daily priorities, updates, and safety information. Quality & Operations Management Ensure assigned work areas are cleaned and maintained to established standards. Assist the Operations Manager in scheduling, staffing, and assignment coverage. Conduct regular facility inspections and quality audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly. Respond to customer concerns, special requests, and service issues in a professional and timely manner. Participate in cleaning projects, floor care, biohazard cleanup, and custodial duties as needed. Monitor work orders, daily logs, emails, and other operational communications. Customer Service Serve as the primary contact for customer questions, concerns, and service requests during assigned shifts. Build and maintain positive working relationships with customer facility staff and building occupants. Escalate service concerns and customer issues to management when appropriate. Equipment & Supply Management Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and company vehicles. Submit supply requests and recommend equipment or process improvements. Train staff on the safe operation of floor scrubbers and other motorized cleaning equipment. Manage window cleaning schedules and specialty cleaning projects. Administrative Responsibilities Complete required audits, reports, and documentation accurately and on time. Check email, voicemail, and work order systems throughout each shift. Submit maintenance work orders and promptly escalate emergency issues. Report employee relations concerns to the Operations Manager in a timely manner. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 3-5 years of custodial, building maintenance, or facility services experience, including supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, floor care, and custodial operations. Ability to operate floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and other cleaning equipment or willingness to learn in first 60 days. Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions. Proficiency with computers and basic software applications. Must meet requirements to operate a company vehicle. Ability to perform the duties of custodial team members as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and crawling. Repetitive use of hands, arms, and fingers. Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds. Ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and related products. Must wear required personal protective equipment, including slip-resistant footwear, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection when applicable. May be exposed to biohazard materials, unpleasant odors, and unsanitary conditions. Ability to work in varying, indoor and outdoor environments.
