Position Information Position Title Recreation Facility Assistant Department Recreation Services Appointment Term Academic Year (August - May) FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary The Recreation Facility Assistant's main duties lie in the management and execution of the policies and procedures of the Baker Family Fitness Center and Looney Complex as set forth and regulated by Missouri Western State University (MoWest). Essential Duties Validating MoWest ID's and memberships upon arrival through the Banner system Administering and checking required facility paperwork (i.e. assisting with record-keeping) Enforcing policies and procedures to patrons specific to assigned location Maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities Tracking equipment inventory through the Banner system All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications MoWest Student Degree Seeking At least an overall 2.0 GPA Enrolled at least part-time (6 hours) May need to qualify for Federal Work Study Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 45 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors; or a strong background in computer science, video games, or management. Currently CPR/AED certified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Customer Service Good communication skills Event scheduling Supervisory experience
Physical Demands Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additional Demands Location where duties are to be performed Baker Family Fitness Center and Looney Complex Federal Work Study Not Required Hours of Work Anticipate 10 hours per week Hours may vary.
