Job Description
The YMCA of the Northern Sky in Fargo is seeking a motivated, hands-on leader to join our team as our Maintenance Coordinator . Under the general direction of the Vice President of Buildings & Grounds, the Maintenance Coordinator oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of YMCA facilities. This position provides leadership and direction to the Maintenance Technician team, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and systems are safe, functional, well-maintained, and operated efficiently Develops, implements, and oversees maintenance and preventative maintenance processes for all YMCA facilities. Assigns, prioritizes, and monitors maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion. Works closely with department directors to respond to and resolve maintenance requests efficiently. Regularly inspects facilities, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Routinely evaluates the condition and operation of equipment, including floor care equipment, pool pumps, boilers, sump pumps, and other critical facility systems. Reports equipment conditions, repair needs, and recommended improvements to the Vice President of Buildings & Grounds. Performs routine maintenance, repairs, and other hands-on maintenance duties as needed. Maintains adequate inventory of maintenance supplies and orders materials within established budget guidelines. Coordinates and maintains effective relationships with contractors, service providers, and other vendors. Supports facility projects and special maintenance initiatives as assigned. Ensures facility maintenance practices comply with OSHA standards and YMCA safety policies and procedures. Maintains and updates Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as required. Monitors fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and other life-safety equipment and coordinates required inspections and service. Provides staff training on OSHA standards, SDS requirements, fire safety and prevention, and other facility-related safety practices. Promotes a safe work environment and promptly addresses hazards or unsafe conditions Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Two years of related maintenance, or facilities experience Within one year of hire: Obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
