Transit Facilities and Fleet Coordinator (Part-Time)

SUMMARY OF WORK
Responsible for maintenance of the Standing Rock Public Transit Facilities and Fleet. Provide safe and reliable service for clients served.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Work closely with the Transit Operations Manager to assign buses to routes. 2.Assist Transit Mechanic with the operations of the automotive service business. 3.Serve as emergency contact for drivers due to vehicle breakdowns. 4.Must drive buses/vans as needed. 5.Responsible for assisting the Director with bidding processes and procurement of vehicles and facility equipment. 6.Responsible for assisting the Director with the planning and oversight of construction projects. 7.Maintain transit vehicles ensuring that they are cleaned, serviced, and repaired. a.

Responsible for inspection and use of transit vehicles. b.

Responsible for entering transit maintenance data into the Transit Asset Management (TAMS) software system. c.

Perform scheduled transit maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups. d.

Perform minor mechanic repairs of transit vehicles. e.

Schedule and coordinate work to be performed by vendors including recalls, warranty, vehicle repairs, body work, etc. 8.Maintain Public Transit facilities and passenger shelters. a.

Coordinate repairs of facilities as needed (sanitation, heating, cooling, etc.) b.

Perform janitorial duties. c.

Perform grounds keeping, i.e. mowing, snow removal, etc. 9.Order and maintain all facility and fleet supplies. a.

Responsible for all inventories, ordering, and stocking 10.Provide friendly, helpful customer service to the public. 11.Must communicate effectively with others. 12.Receive training necessary to provide safe and reliable service. 13.Attend all scheduled college functions and meetings as required. 14.Promote and participate in student and community activities. (i.e. clubs, AIHEC, cultural events) 15.Promote and recruit students for Sitting Bull College. 16.Other duties as assigned by the Transit Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.High School graduate. 2.Valid driver's license. 3.Good driving record. 4.Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and perform heavy manual labor. 5.Must be able to pass physical fitness exam. 6.Dependable and flexible. 7.Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry. 8.Mechanical knowledge. 9.Work with automotive repair equipment. 10.Experienced in operating multiple types of equipment including tractors, push mowers, riding mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers to maintain property grounds.
