Assistant Warehouse & Logistics Manager Key Responsibilities Pickups, Deliveries & Logistics Conduct pickups of hardware and materials from vendors (hardware stores, powder coaters, specialty suppliers) in company trucks. Maintain positive, professional relationships with vendors during pickups. Ensure the company vehicle is consistently: Filled with gas Clean and organized Stocked with straps, moving blankets, and other transport essentials Project Execution & Wrap Pack Assistance Support project execution by assisting with production work as needed. Help with project wrap-up, including packing materials, tools, and hardware, and ensuring accurate post-project inventory reconciliation. Maintain a proactive, team-oriented mindset—ready to step in where needed to keep operations moving smoothly. Floor Leadership & Supervision Directly oversee the daily workflow of warehouse associates (receiving, picking, packing, and shipping). Act as the primary point of contact for the team when the Manager is off-site. Logistics Coordination Assist with scheduling inbound and outbound freight shipments. Coordinate with carriers, track delayed shipments, and resolve delivery discrepancies or damages quickly. Onboarding & Training Help train new hires on safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and proper equipment operation. Safety & Compliance Enforcer Conduct floor walkthroughs to ensure strict adherence to OSHA standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Hardware Centralization Consolidate all hardware carts and bins into one centralized location. Physically sort, label, and organize hardware to improve accessibility and reduce time spent searching for items. Job Shelf Setup & Organization Create and maintain a structured system for job shelves, categorizing materials and hardware by project upon intake. Ensure all items are clearly identified and ready for use. Inventory Database Implementation Collaborate with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager and Sr. Production Manager to implement and maintain digital inventory tools. Keep real-time counts of key materials and ensure all usage is tracked accurately.
