We're looking for a proactive, hands-on Facilities Manager who takes pride in creating safe, welcoming, and well-maintained spaces for the families we serve. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys a mix of facility management, vendor coordination, project oversight, and hands-on maintenance. One day you may be coordinating a contractor, the next you may be helping set up for a staff event, troubleshooting a maintenance issue, or working alongside volunteers during a campus improvement project. What You'll Do Facility Operations Ensure Saranam's facilities, grounds, and equipment are safe, welcoming, and well maintained. Oversee maintenance, custodial, landscaping, security, and other facility services. Perform minor repairs and troubleshoot routine maintenance issues when needed. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance, safety, and appearance concerns. Maintain facility equipment inventories, maintenance records, and replacement schedules. Property & Vendor Management Build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, property managers, and service providers. Coordinate service calls, monitor work quality, and ensure projects are completed to organizational standards. Assist with obtaining bids and managing contractor relationships. Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related issues involving staff, property management, and vendors. Projects & Planning Partner with the Director of Finance and Operations to support facility budgets, capital improvements, and long-term maintenance planning. Coordinate apartment turns, inspections, and facility readiness activities with the Housing Coordinator. Ensure meeting rooms, trainings, volunteer events, and special programs are properly set up and ready for use. Work alongside volunteers, staff, and community partners during campus cleanups and facility improvement projects. Safety & Compliance Support safety, emergency preparedness, and risk management efforts. Help ensure facilities comply with organizational standards and applicable regulations. Respond to facility emergencies and urgent maintenance issues as needed. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in facilities maintenance, facilities operations, property management, or a related field. Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, or service providers. Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot routine maintenance issues. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Technical training, certification, or coursework related to facilities, property management, construction, or maintenance. Experience in nonprofit, housing, multifamily, residential, or community-based settings. Experience coordinating projects, contractors, volunteers, or work teams. Experience with facility planning, budgeting, or capital improvements. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the day. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely use ladders, maintenance tools, and basic power tools. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to travel between organizational properties. Ability to respond to occasional after-hours facility emergencies.
