A Facilities Manager manages the facilities of a company or organization, including buildings and grounds, equipment, supplies and staff. Oversees maintenance and security of facilities; oversees renovation projects and monitors work to improve energy efficiency, productivity or employee safety. May work in manufacturing and production, or manage hotels, small apartment buildings, trailer parks or recreational facilities.
Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House has been dedicated to serving the community since 1903. The organization strives to provide a safe, nurturing environment that inspires young people to reach their full potential as responsible and productive citizens through diverse after-school programs. The Facilities Manager oversees the day-to-day maintenance, operation, and safety of the organization's facilities, grounds, equipment, and building systems. This position is responsible for ensuring the Club's facilities are clean, safe, functional, and well-maintained through preventative maintenance, repairs, and the oversight of HVAC, lighting, security systems, and grounds maintenance. In addition, the Facilities Manager supervises maintenance staff, coordinates contractors and vendors, and ensures the efficient operation of the Club's facilities in support of its mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate maintenance and custodial staff to ensure efficient daily facility operations. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, security systems, and other facility infrastructure. Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, painting, patching, flooring, and basic electrical and plumbing repairs. Coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance schedules with contractors and service providers to maximize equipment performance and longevity. Manage outside vendors and contractors, obtain competitive bids when appropriate, and monitor the quality and completion of contracted work. Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and repair priorities. Maintain the facility grounds, coordinate snow removal services, and ensure all walkways, entrances, and outdoor areas remain safe and accessible. Coordinate required fire, safety, insurance, and regulatory inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, licensing requirements, and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, equipment service, warranties, permits, and compliance documentation. Serve as the facility's Emergency Response Coordinator by maintaining emergency preparedness plans and responding to facility emergencies, including fire and security alarm activations. Monitor inventory and procure maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment as needed. Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with established safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA standards. Assist with facility setup, room configurations, and logistical support for Club programs, meetings, and special events. Perform other facilities and maintenance duties as assigned to support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the organization.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
: Open, close, inspect, and secure the facility as needed, ensuring all building systems are functioning properly and the premises are safe. Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building technology infrastructure, including network cabling, security systems, and related equipment, as needed. Participate in staff meetings, safety trainings, and facility planning meetings to support operational goals. Be available to respond to facility emergencies and work occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours to support maintenance projects, emergency repairs, inspections, or organizational events.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of facilities management or building maintenance experience. Experience managing vendors and contractors. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and building codes. Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid New York State driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT / WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, and work in confined or elevated spaces while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Ability to climb ladders and safely work at varying heights to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance. Ability to frequently reach overhead and below waist level to access equipment, building systems, tools, and supplies. Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements, including the use of hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and computers. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to push, pull, transport, and maneuver equipment, furniture, maintenance supplies, and materials weighing up to 100 pounds using appropriate equipment when necessary. Ability to operate maintenance equipment, including lawn and snow equipment, power tools, ladders, and other facility maintenance machinery. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Ability to work in environments with moderate to high noise levels and safely use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing and eye protection. Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges, meters, blueprints, and maintenance documentation, and maintain close and distance visual acuity necessary to perform inspections and repairs. Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, emergency notifications, and verbal instructions in both quiet and noisy environments. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, vendors, emergency personnel, and the public. Ability to respond promptly to facility emergencies, including after-hours, evenings, weekends, and inclement weather when required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively prioritizing multiple maintenance tasks and responding to changing operational needs.
