About the Role We're looking for a Chief Engineer to lead operations at our New Albany data center campus. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overall site management and maintenance, client reporting, staff availability, emergency response coordination, incident and Problem Management, and participation in miscellaneous projects. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the dedicated power and cooling service level commitments for each of the designated data center facilities This is an onsite position with a strong leadership presence required. Limited travel (~10%) may be needed for regional support and training. What You'll Do Monitor, maintain and operate all on-site mission critical equipment within SOP and EOP functionality including: Primary Switch Gear Medium Voltage Gear Distributed Switch Gear Automatic and Static Transfer Switches Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) Diesel Generators Power Distribution Units (PDU's) Remote Power Panels (RPP's) Main and sub breakers HVAC, CRAC and mini-mate cooling units Fire and Life Safety systems Drive Operational Excellence Develop and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and preventative maintenance programs Leverage CMMS and monitoring tools to maintain accurate system data and reporting Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance, and PUE Manage Teams & Vendors Lead, mentor, and develop on-site technical staff and contractors Build strong vendor partnerships and ensure high-quality service delivery Maintain clear, proactive communication with customers and stakeholders Own Incident & Change Management Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions Participate in on-call rotation and ensure rapid response to critical events Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure Compliance & Safety Maintain adherence to all safety protocols, codes, and regulatory requirements Support documentation efforts including as-built drawings and system updates What You Bring 10+ years of experience in mission-critical operations (data centers, critical facilities, or similar environments) 3+ years in a leadership role within a hyperscale or enterprise data center Strong expertise across electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and interact with customers Experience with CMMS, BMS, and structured ticketing systems (incident/problem/change management) Ability to interpret technical documentation (AutoCAD, Visio, etc.) Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Preferred Experience Emerson-Liebert systems Square D switchgear MTU, Caterpillar, or Cummins generators Why join US?
