Position Purpose:
HBT is seeking a Rebuild Facility Manager to lead our Evans City Shop. This position will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of equipment rebuilds and related shop operations, with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, workforce development, and continuous improvement. This leadership will work closely with Sales, Product Support, Engineering, Automation, Parts, and Supply Chain to ensure customer commitments are supported with the right people, processes, technical knowledge, and operational capacity. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day operations at the Evans City facility, including equipment and component rebuild activities. Drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. Work with Service Managers to plan and manage shop capacity, manpower, schedules, and priorities to support customer commitments. Provide technical leadership and support for complex rebuild/refurbishment activities. Work closely with experienced HBT personnel to capture critical knowledge of systems, customers, rebuild processes, and best practices. Develop and maintain documentation, work instructions, and repeatable processes to improve consistency and preserve technical knowledge. Train, mentor, and develop current and future equipment rebuild technicians. Partner with Sales, Service, Parts, Engineering, Automation, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues, confirm product configurations, and address operational constraints. Monitor rebuild progress and proactively address risks to schedule, quality, or customer delivery. Drive continuous improvement in workflow, tooling, processes, quality systems, and shop productivity. Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to rebuild quality, field failures, and warranty issues. Support customer visits, rebuild inspections, and operational discussions as required. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in operations, heavy equipment, manufacturing, equipment rebuilds, field service, or a related industrial environment. Demonstrated experience leading skilled technical or trades teams. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with experience working around complex industrial equipment. Proven ability to manage safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional problem-solving skills. Experience with ERP systems, BOMs, work orders, and structured operational processes preferred. Mining, underground mining equipment, gearbox, hydraulics and/or heavy equipment rebuild/refurbishment experience is highly desirable.
