COMPANY OVERVIEW
Jefferson Memorial Park, Inc. is family owned death care business located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. The corporation includes a cemetery of 180 developed acres, an 18,000-sf funeral home, state of the art crematory and concrete production plant manufacturing burial products. We also operate a residential and commercial lawncare company. Jefferson Memorial is one of the largest death care operations inWestern Pennsylvania.
OPERATIONS AND FACILITY MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
This Operations and Facility Manager position is responsible for coordinating, organizing, supervising and overseeing the daily operations of the cemetery, and concrete plant. Coordinates and controls activities necessary to maintain all facilities, physical structures and grounds of the corporation to ensure facility systems and utilities are operational and in safe working condition, including support equipment and vehicles required to accomplish these tasks. Ensures that the buildings, grounds, equipment and systems are in compliance with regulatory requirements and policies and procedures, including but not limited to: OSHA, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (compost), Allegheny County Department of Air quality (crematory), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (truck drivers).This position is accountable for the management of projects including: resource assignment, documentation, budgets, communication and risk assessment. Manages and trains staff in the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, infrastructures and equipment including revising or developing policy and operational procedure manuals. High focus on customer service, quality and timeliness in maintaining the overall image of Jefferson Memorial is vital to for the Operations and Facility Manager.
REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATIONS AND FACILITIES MANAGER
Bachelor degree from an accredited college (preferably in Facility Management or Property Management). In additional to the educational requirement 2-3 years' experience in facility management or seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in facilities management may be substituted for the educational requirement. Experience directing others with the ability to achieve consensus in the execution of facility maintenance tasks. Strong computer skills including MS word, excel and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Must be a US Citizen Ability to pass a drug screening
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
Experience with facility construction, maintenance and engineering needs associated with an aging multiple building site. Provides supervisory guidance, planning, and technical advice to staff. Leads all aspects of design, construction, management, and modifications of facilities to an on-time, on-budget delivery. Oversees general building maintenance repairs and services for multiple facilities. Provides outstanding leadership to department personnel, ensuring work quality and conformance with standards and regulations; exercise control over company resources. Develops and evaluates bids. Negotiates, and manages agreements with consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Develops and manages annual maintenance budget. Prepares emergency response plans; ensures compliance with all workplace laws and regulations. Develops, implements, schedules and completes a Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Program for all facilities and equipment. Creates and maintains relationships with all customers, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Candidate will play a key role in capital improvement, expansion, and building improvement efforts providing guidance from planning through implementation and ongoing maintenance. Experience working with Architectural and Engineering firms. Knowledgeable in the operation of boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC and power distribution systems. Must be a motivated, self-starter and able to work with limited supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
