Exempt Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older, and possess a high school or equivalency diploma, and a valid New York State driver's license. Prior supervisory experience and experience operating power equipment preferred. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.
Physical Requirements:
This position works in a typical warehouse setting and will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, pulling, and reaching. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of power equipment. Employee should have the ability to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.
Position Summary:
Responsible for overeesing and maintaining the building, equipment and grounds to ensure proper maintainance and cleanliness. Supervises Maintenance Associate and Maintenance Technician.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs routine building maintenance as appropriate. 2. Performs minor repairs in the warehouse and office spaces. 3. Ensures scheduled maintenance is performed on refrigeration, forklifts, doors, etc. 4. Monitors the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, including offices, conference rooms, warehouse, and parking lots. 5. Schedules routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside contractors/vendors. 6. Oversees the work of contractors and vendors. Builds and maintains positive and effective working relationships with contractors and vendors. 7. Prepares the facility for changing or inclement weather conditions. 8. Oversees and serves as the trainer for powered equipment training. 9. Supports fiscal responsibility while staying within the budget. 10. Maintains warehouse sanitation, health, and safety standards following guidelines from Feeding America, AIB, New York State, the USDA, and other regulatory bodies. 11. Inspects power equipment prior to use. 12. Follows all safety standards and procedures. 13. Assists in the recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and development of Maintenance Associate and Warehouse Technician positions. 14. Provides input for employee performance reviews, counseling, and terminations. 15. Responsible for the accurate and timely review and approval of employee's time and time off through the timekeeping system. 16. Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank. 17. Adheres to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct. 18.
