Job Description

Springbrook Behavioral Health is currently seeking a Facilities Director who will be responsible for overseeing the physical safety, maintenance, and environment of care at Springbrook Behavioral Health. They will ensure the building meets strict regulatory standards, will manage physical security, and maintain anti-ligature and supportive environments crucial for vulnerable patients, balancing complex physical operations with stringent healthcare compliance. This position will plan, implement, coordinate, and assess the hospital's facility management as well as the accident, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health programs under general direction of hospital officials, utilizing knowledge of industrial safety-related engineering disciplines and operating regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
AND TRAINING
Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or healthcare administration preferred, though equivalent experience is widely accepted.
EXPERIENCE
5+ years of progressive facility management experience, ideally in a hospital or behavioral health setting.
LICENSURE
Valid unrestricted South Carolina driver's license.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Expert-level understanding of life safety codes, physical plant operations, and preventative maintenance programming in a 24/7 healthcare environment.
PHYSICAL
Manual dexterity with tools and equipment. Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs as well as to stand and work for long periods of time.
ENVIRONMENT
Will be both inside and outside the building so may be exposed to extremes in temperature. Noise level may be minimal to high depending on activity/equipment being used.
JOB HAZARDS
There is a danger of burns, cuts, exposure to weather, electrical shock, falls, exposure to hazardous wastes, injury from equipment. Bending, lifting, walking, standing, pushing, climbing are routine activities in performance of these job responsibilities. Patient contact may expose one to physical and verbal abuse and/or infectious conditions.
WORK RELATIONSHIPS
Must work well with others in the department, with the housekeeping staff, with the nursing staff and with outside contractual services.
