A Facilities Specialist or Coordinator is in charge of building and equipment maintenance, building security systems, emergency plans, often for specific buildings only. May be involved in planning of new facilities. Acts as contact person between employees and outside contractors.
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Facilities Support Associate 2 at the Dickson Campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in custodial/janitorial and/or grounds-keeping experience. Knowledge of the safe use of chemicals and equipment and how to maintain a safe working environment. Knowledge of the material and equipment used in custodial/janitorial tasks. Ability to safely operate tractors, commercial mowers, gas-powered trimmers, edgers, and other equipment used for groundskeeping. Mature attitude and dependability required. SKILLS Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Ability to use tools and equipment to perform tasks related to custodial/janitorial duties. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. General computer skills required. Valid Tennessee driver license. Ability to operate forklift equipment a plus.
GENERAL DUTIES
: The Facilities Support Associate 2 performs tasks related to facility and grounds upkeep including, but not limited to: mowing; weedeating; landscaping; parking lot maintenance, etc. This position also performs custodial and/or janitorial duties including, but not limited to: cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining assigned interior and/or exterior areas on a routine schedule; restocking custodial supplies as needed; collecting and disposing of trash from assigned areas; training facilities work study employees; cleaning and maintaining floors in assigned areas; assisting with classroom and meeting room set-up and clean-up, and other duties as assigned. Some travel and work at satellite campuses may be required. Work schedule is Monday through Friday7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Walking or standing continually; be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use body members, (arms, hands, fingers) tools, or special devices to work, move, guide, or place objects. Requires mental and visual attention to detail.
SALARY:
$27,129 - $32,977 per year ($13.91 - $16.91 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines, related education and directly related experience.
