DEPADM The Opportunity The Senior Manager, Facilities and Expansion is responsible for leading building operations, maintenance programs, infrastructure readiness, and large-scale facility growth initiatives. This role oversees regional or network-wide facility portfolios and ensures buildings, equipment, systems, vendors, and teams are positioned to support current operational needs and future business growth. This leader will manage facility expansion projects, capital improvements, preventative maintenance programs, operating budgets, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional coordination with internal business partners, vendors, contractors, and leadership teams. The ideal candidate brings strong facilities operations experience, capital project oversight, vendor management capability, and the ability to scale facility capacity in a fast-moving environment. What you will do? Facility Operations and Reliability Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across assigned locations, ensuring buildings, systems, and equipment are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. Lead preventative and corrective maintenance programs, including asset lifecycle management, maintenance schedules, equipment reliability, and emergency repair response. Develop and maintain facility standards, operational procedures, inspection routines, and escalation processes. Partner with internal teams to ensure facility readiness for business operations, workforce growth, production needs, and customer requirements. Monitor facility performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve uptime, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency. Expansion and Capital Projects Lead facility expansion projects, building renovations, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and space planning initiatives to support business growth. Partner with leadership, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, EHS, IT, and external contractors to align project scope, budget, schedule, and execution plans. Support site selection, layout planning, utility requirements, permitting, contractor coordination, and project closeout activities. Ensure expansion plans are aligned with capacity goals, operational timelines, compliance requirements, and long-term business strategy. Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and budget performance while providing regular updates to leadership. Financial and Vendor Management Manage operating and capital budgets for assigned facilities and expansion projects. Develop cost estimates, budget forecasts, capital requests, and project financial tracking. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve vendor performance, optimize material spend, and create scalable facility support models. Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, contractor performance, purchase orders, and invoice review. Ensure vendors and contractors meet performance, safety, quality, schedule, and compliance expectations. Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management Ensure facilities comply with applicable local building codes, fire safety requirements, environmental regulations, labor requirements, and company safety standards. Partner with EHS and operational leaders to maintain safe working environments and support audits, inspections, corrective actions, and emergency preparedness plans. Maintain documentation related to inspections, permits, maintenance records, compliance requirements, and facility-related risk mitigation. Support emergency response planning, business continuity, incident response, and facility recovery efforts. Proactively identify facility risks and implement solutions to prevent operational disruption. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop facilities managers, technicians, supervisors, and/or distributed support teams. Establish clear expectations, priorities, performance goals, and accountability across the facilities organization. Build a culture focused on safety, service, reliability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. Support workforce planning, training, staffing needs, and succession planning within the facilities team. Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure facility teams are aligned with business priorities and project timelines. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 6-10+ years of experience managing facilities operations, multi-site facilities, industrial operations, corporate real estate, manufacturing facilities, data center facilities, or capital expansion projects. Experience leading facility expansions, renovations, construction coordination, equipment installations, or infrastructure upgrades. Proven experience managing operating budgets, capital budgets, vendors, contractors, and service providers. Experience leading teams across multiple sites or supporting distributed operations preferred. Strong background in maintenance planning, asset management, safety compliance, and facility reliability. Technical Skills Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and facility work order systems. Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, construction, and facility drawings. Strong understanding of building systems, utilities, mechanical/electrical infrastructure, maintenance programs, and facility compliance requirements. Proficiency in capital budgeting, project tracking, vendor management, and cost control. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project tracking tools. Experience supporting high-growth, industrial, manufacturing, construction, mission-critical, logistics, or multi-site environments. Knowledge of building codes, fire/life safety, environmental compliance, OSHA/EHS standards, and permitting processes. Experience managing facility buildouts, site launches, infrastructure readiness, or large-scale operational ramps. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders. Experience partnering with senior leadership on strategic growth, capacity planning, and operational readiness. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills. Financial discipline and ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives. High sense of urgency with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, growing environment. Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ownership. Ability to build scalable processes, improve operational standards, and lead teams through change.
