Full Job Description Permian Basin Facilities and Field Support Coordinator Compensation:
Hourly rate based on experience
Schedule:
Shop and field work, with after-hours and weekend on-call availability as operational needs require Position Summary The Permian Basin Facilities and Field Support Coordinator performs hands-on shop, equipment, and field support work for Stratagraph's Midland operation. Duties include preparing, cleaning, maintaining, delivering, and recovering logging units and supporting equipment throughout the Permian Basin, under the direction of Texas Operations. This hourly position requires mechanical ability, organization, dependable communication, and the ability to complete assigned work independently. Daily work includes shop and yard upkeep, loading and unloading, equipment preparation, field deliveries, and assistance with rig-ups and rig-downs. After-hours and weekend work is required when operations demand it. ResponsibilitiesEquipment Readiness and Maintenance
  • Prepare mudlogging units, instrumentation, tools, computers, and supporting equipment for deployment; verify each unit is clean, stocked, functional, and ready before it leaves the shop.
  • Inspect returned units promptly and identify cleaning, maintenance, repair, and replacement needs before redeployment.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance within the scope of training; troubleshoot equipment and request additional support from Texas Operations when needed.
  • Report equipment failures, missing items, maintenance requirements, and operational concerns promptly to Texas Operations.
  • Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend improvements to reliability, readiness, and useful equipment life. Field Support and Logistics
  • Deliver and retrieve logging units, tools, supplies, and replacement components at drilling locations throughout the Permian Basin, as directed by Texas Operations.
  • Assist field personnel with rig-up, rig-down, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Respond to emergency equipment swaps, replacements, and field deliveries, including after-hours and weekends when required.
  • Receive, load, unload, and stage equipment and supplies safely; communicate delivery progress, field needs, and equipment status clearly. Shop and Facility Support
  • Keep the Midland shop, warehouse, and yard clean, organized, and ready for use. Perform routine upkeep and report repair needs to Texas Operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and records of equipment location, condition, storage, and movement. Ensure tools, spare parts, consumables, and instrumentation are labeled and available for upcoming work.
  • Maintain basic equipment and facility records, including maintenance logs, inspection records, warranties, and service paperwork.
  • Identify needed tools, parts, consumables, and repairs; submit requests to Texas Operations and assist with approved orders and service arrangements.
  • Submit receipts, service paperwork, and repair information to Texas Operations; identify practical ways to reduce waste and avoid repeat repairs.
  • Complete daily shop tasks and maintenance work according to priorities and deployment plans established by Texas Operations.
  • Follow company and drilling-location safety requirements and manufacturer instructions; promptly report hazards and unsafe equipment.
  • Perform other related duties and support Permian Basin operations as directed by the Texas Operator.
Position Scope and Authority This is a hands-on support position with no employee supervisory or management responsibilities. Dispatching employees, determining employee schedules, and assigning personnel or logging units to jobs remain with Texas Operations. The coordinator does not hire, discipline, evaluate employees, or approve budgets. Purchases and outside services require approval through company procedures. Requirements
  • Reside in Midland, Texas, or within approximately 30 minutes of Midland.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Be available for assigned on-call coverage, including after-hours and weekends when required, and travel regularly throughout the Permian Basin.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Work safely and confidently in shop, yard, oilfield, and drilling-location environments.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills; work independently and prioritize changing operational needs.
  • Understand or quickly learn the equipment and facilities being maintained, and follow written manuals and manufacturer instructions.
  • Use basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office or comparable software, to maintain inventory, maintenance, and other operational records. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous mudlogging, drilling, oilfield service, shop, or facility maintenance experience.
  • Experience preparing, maintaining, transporting, or supporting mobile field units or trailers.
  • Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience, including generators, HVAC systems, computers, sensors, instrumentation, or networking.
  • Familiarity with Permian Basin drilling operations and rig locations.
  • Experience maintaining equipment records, inventory, warranties, and service documentation.
  • Relevant technical training in equipment maintenance, mechanical work, or electrical troubleshooting.
Physical and Working Conditions The position requires lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, climbing, bending, and working outdoors in varying conditions. The employee must be able to safely access and navigate the shop, yard, drilling locations, and equipment being serviced. Duties also include driving, travel, and computer work to maintain records. Essential duties must be performed safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
