Job Description
- Please note, this role provides for 24x7x365 on call support to provide continuous operations
- 3 years' experience in a data center is a must
- Experience managing others (direct reports) is a must Essential Job Functions Maintain 100% availability in Colocation data center critical facility Provides supervision to the team of Building Engineers Indirect management for Data Center Support Technicians & physical security Manage staff providing schedules, training, preparedness and growth Manages operation and maintenance of all environmental and power systems to ensure 100% availability to raised floors including building management system control and coordinating efforts with contractors Responsible for customer support and satisfaction Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects Plan, procure, and manage installation of all systems to support computer hardware initiatives Contribute to creating, tracking and maintaining operational budget for facility Directs, oversees, supervises and inspects the work performed by outside contractors Provides for 24x7x365 on call support to provide continuous operations Manage all contracts, procedures and service agreements to ensure proper compliance Responsible for managing maintenance work order and asset tracking software, including uploading new work orders and processes as required Ensures operating parameters and maintenance processes, procedures, and frequencies are adhered to, updated, and developed as necessary Maintains all drawings, project documentation, and space planning for the site Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety Responsible for building management system control and coordinating efforts with controls contractors Write and track root cause of all problems and malfunctions taking corrective action and process improvements as required Communicate complex technical information to multiple people with various levels of technical knowledge Responsible for increasing efficiencies and maintaining reliability of all mechanical and electrical systems Risk analysis and creation of scopes of work related to preventative maintenance and resolution needs on building and facility equipment Communicate to visitors, vendors, contractors, customers, and management daily Knowledge/Skills required Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, industrial HVAC, and Plumbing systems Strong team management, coaching, & leadership abilities 5 years of experience in a Data Center environment, and 5 years' experience related to building management 5 years' experience with building automation systems, Client Foreseer or Vigilent controls experience a plus Excellent customer service Able to read complex building drawings and schematics Able to evaluate importance and urgency of projects based on cost, risk, safety, etc.
