Department:
As an integral part of the Facilities Operations team, the Facilities Technician will assist in organizing, maintaining, and preparing George Mason Athletics facilities and equipment. Professionalism, problem solving skills, and a positive work ethic are necessary for this role. The Facilities Technician is responsible for supporting the preparation of facilities, venues, and equipment. The position is also responsible for creating and maintaining a positive image for the University. About the
Position:
Facilities Technicians may work up to 29 hours per week (domestic student limit) or 20 hours per week (international students). This position is facility focused; working early mornings, nights, and weekends is standard. We will supply a tentative schedule at the start of the semester and ask staff members to request their availability for shifts. This is a paid position.
Responsibilities:
Facility Operations Support the Assistant Directors of Facilities Revenue and Game Operations, Assistant AD Events, Facilities and Operations, and any other facility or organizational staff that require our services in maintaining the facilities and assisting with internal and external rentals; and Along with working rental events, this team member will also work home sporting events and office hours. The expectation is that everyone promotes the Athletics facilities in a professional manner ensuring the department and University image is continually enhanced and maintained. Staffing Assist with recruitment and training of facility and staff; and Work closely with other facility technicians to complete daily tasks. Scheduling Staff should continue to request weekly shifts when available.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to work early morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts; Experience working with a diverse group of individuals; and Ability to lift and carry 50lbs or more. Instructions to
