A Facilities Specialist or Coordinator is in charge of building and equipment maintenance, building security systems, emergency plans, often for specific buildings only. May be involved in planning of new facilities. Acts as contact person between employees and outside contractors.
IntellecTechs is currently seeking a Facility Technician, with a SECRET CLEARANCE, to support the Facility & Security Management Division at the Russell-Knox Building (RKB) in Quantico, Virginia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Facility Technician is responsible for: Conducting building tours in common space and agency space; (being proactive in coordination of light bulbs, plumbing, electrical work) making sure the Help Desk sends in the needed service request. Hangs pictures, shelving, install keyboards, hand gun boxes, etc., in agency work space Dismantles, move and/or install system furniture Perform additional facility technician duties (ex: cone off parking lots, assist in set up and tear down for Special events) as assigned. Safety Office:
practice and promote safety at all times Assist in developing and maintaining inventories of equipment, tools, and other supplies Assist in identifying and schedule work to be performed during the summer, winter, and spring Assist in maintaining current files and records of building plans and specifications (Assist Facility Specialist when able to). Must be able to work and interact with all other personnel and agency staff in a cooperative, collaborative and courteous manner. Be able to lift 40 pounds and carry more than 50 feet throughout the day and safely lift 80 pounds to waist side. Be able to walk, stand, kneel, balance, bend over or other physical activities as require throughout the day. Be able to safely work at heights in excess of 10 feet from ladders, or man-lifts equipment. Be adaptable to varying temperatures, climates and environments encountered indoors and outdoors. Qualifications Must have SECRET clearance Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 4-5 years or related experience Self-Starter with "Highly Motivated" attitude Excellent communication skills Able to use Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel Must be able to safely work in varying facility conditions to address the customer needs Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures Time Management Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
