Job Description

Lead the future of healthcare facilities on Washington's beautiful Pacific Coast! Quinault Community Health (QCH) and Quinault Wellness Center (QWC) are seeking an experienced Plant Services Director to lead facilities operations, capital development, infrastructure planning, and biomedical equipment oversight across our growing healthcare organization. As Plant Services Director, you will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for facility operations, maintenance, environmental services, grounds, utilities, construction, safety systems, biomedical equipment, and capital infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, compliant, efficient, and ready to support exceptional patient care. Working closely with executive leadership, clinical operations, finance, and external partners, you will lead long-range facility planning, capital improvement programs, construction and renovation projects, regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance, and emergency preparedness. You will also provide leadership and direction through the Facilities Manager, supporting departmental performance, staff development, and operational excellence. Your leadership will help shape the future of healthcare delivery across our organization.
Key responsibilities include:
Directing strategic facilities planning, infrastructure development, and organizational expansion. Leading capital construction, renovations, facility upgrades, project budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships. Overseeing biomedical equipment programs, preventive maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, emergency power, fire protection, and building automation systems. Ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, life safety standards, OSHA, CMS, Washington State Department of Health, NFPA, and accreditation requirements. Managing departmental operating and capital budgets, purchasing, service agreements, and cost-control initiatives. Leading facilities emergency preparedness, utility failure response, environmental safety, and infection prevention collaboration. Developing and mentoring facilities leadership and staff while establishing departmental goals, policies, and performance standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Architecture, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience managing biomedical equipment (Biomed) programs. Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory and leadership experience. Must possess at least one of the following certifications:
CHFM, CFM, CHOP, ISO 9001
Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer, FMP, CBET, CHTM, or another nationally recognized equivalent certification in healthcare facilities management, biomedical equipment management, regulatory compliance, or quality systems. Demonstrated experience managing multiple buildings, facility systems, capital construction, renovations, infrastructure improvement projects, RFPs, contracts, and development service agreements. Experience managing departmental budgets, capital budgets, vendor contracts, and large-scale projects. Thorough knowledge of healthcare facility regulations, including NFPA Life Safety Code, NFPA 99, CMS Conditions of Participation, OSHA, Washington State Department of Health requirements, ANSI/ASHRAE standards, ASHE guidelines, emergency preparedness, and infection prevention standards. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, fire alarms, emergency generators, medical gas systems, building automation, and preventive maintenance programs. Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, financial management, and project management skills. Knowledge of HIPAA and protection of Protected Health Information. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable through the organization. Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related field. Experience in an FQHC, Tribal Health Program, hospital, or other healthcare organization. Experience with grant-funded construction projects. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preventive maintenance systems, or similar facility management platforms.
