Job Description
Description We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to support audio-visual operations and day-to-day facilities needs for a non-profit organization in Seattle, Washington. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical support, event coordination, and maintaining organized facility resources. The person in this role will help ensure meeting and event spaces are fully prepared, functional, and supported with responsive service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, install, and dismantle audio-visual equipment for meetings, presentations, and special events across the facility.
- Inspect AV tools and systems on a routine basis, performing preventive upkeep to keep equipment reliable and ready for use.
- Partner with event stakeholders to confirm room setup details and identify the technology needed for each gathering.
- Respond to technical issues during meetings and events, troubleshooting problems quickly to minimize disruptions.
- Promote safe handling, proper storage, and consistent maintenance practices for all audio-visual assets.
- Track inventory levels for AV equipment and related supplies, helping maintain accurate records and availability.
- Contribute to the improvement of operating procedures that support effective scheduling and use of AV spaces and resources.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with additional facility-related duties as needed to support overall site operations. Requirements
- Experience supporting audio-visual equipment in conference rooms, meetings, or event environments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to assist a variety of internal stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of facilities coordination practices and day-to-day operational support.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic to intermediate AV issues in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking, preventive maintenance, and organized equipment management.
- Exposure to systems or tools such as CMMS, computerized maintenance platforms, Concur, IBM AS/400, Kronos Timekeeping System, or About Time is preferred.
- Understanding of budget-related processes and the ability to support administrative or operational tracking as needed.
