We work with Domestic and International Original Aircraft Equipment Manufacturing Companies, Airlines operators, private operators and aviation leasing companies across the globe to provide tailor made aircraft painting, graphic solutions that ensure regulatory compliance globally. We currently run 16 sites, 6 of which have wide body aircraft capacity and each year we paint over 1000 aircraft across our facilities. Our European headquarters is based at Shannon Airport, County Clare, Ireland, with our US headquarters located in Spokane, Washington and Irvine California. The Facilities/EHS supervisor oversees the daily maintenance, infrastructure, and regulatory compliance of a specialized two-hangar aircraft painting facility. This role focuses on maintaining Air Handling Units (AHUs), lifts, and building infrastructure. The ideal candidate will champion Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance, ensuring all hangar operations meet aviation and hazardous material handling standards.
Key Responsibilities Air Handling & Climate Control Maintenance AHU Operation:
Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of high-volume Air Handling Units (AHUs).
Filtration Management:
Manage the inspection, testing, and replacement cycles of multi-stage filter bank exhaust systems
Hangar & Equipment Maintenance Lifts & Scaffolding:
Supervise the inspection and maintenance of lifts, to guarantee safe working conditions.
Facilities Upkeep:
Manage maintenance for equipment used for paint operations, grounding systems, compressed air loops, and lighting.
Contractor Oversight:
Coordinate external contractors for hangar repairs, equipment maintenance, and annual certifications.
EHS Compliance & Safety Culture Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, , and aviation authority (FAA) guidelines governing flammable liquid storage, spray booth operations, and fire protection. Engage with relevant regulatory bodies.
Hazardous Material Tracking:
Monitor hazardous waste accumulation (paints, solvents, stripping residues), and water-treatment discharge.
Safety Protocols:
Implement and audit Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, regular testing of emergency eyewash stations, and fire suppression. Maintain sites arrest equipment, through detailed inspections and records.
Team Leadership & Operational Admin Work Order Management:
Lead and assign tasks to a team of maintenance technicians.
Shift Handovers:
Coordinate coverage across both hangars to ensure support is available.
Qualifications & Experience Experience:
2 to 5 years of industrial facilities supervisory experience, ideally within a commercial, heavy manufacturing plant, or large-scale facility.
Technical Proficiency:
Mechanical and electrical understanding of commercial
HVAC/AHU
systems, pneumatic controls, and hydraulic lifts.
EHS Certifications:
Experience/knowledge of
OSHA/EPA
records, hazardous waste compliance, or holding an active safety qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or OSHA 30-Hour). Relevant credentials (such as technical trade certifications) are preferred but not essential.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written coordination skills to engage with external contractors, and regulatory inspectors. Good working Knowledge of Microsoft office.
