A Facilities Specialist or Coordinator is in charge of building and equipment maintenance, building security systems, emergency plans, often for specific buildings only. May be involved in planning of new facilities. Acts as contact person between employees and outside contractors.
Facilities Reports to: Events Manager Job Summary The Event Specialist will be the main support specialist for all GCCD events requiring planning, set up, tear down and regular maintenance of event spaces. The Event Specialist will perform general cleaning, maintenance and repairs for assigned custodial areas and equipment. Essential Functions (Employees of the District must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the position as detailed in this section.) Work with Events Manager and Custodial Supervisor on event schedules and needs. Performing various duties, frequently changing from one task to another. Ability to work hours that vary to include evenings and weekends. Inspect, perform maintenance, and inventory event equipment with a safety first mindset. Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Plans repair work using work order system. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Performs routine maintenance on assigned areas and equipment. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Creates supply & material order lists needed for repairs and maintenance. Perform routine cleaning in assigned area. Snow removal. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Employees of the District are required to possess a minimum proficiency level of English, both written and spoken, that will enable them to communicate safely, effectively, and efficiently with students, co-workers, and the public.) High school diploma or GED equivalent. Possess a valid Class C driver's license. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. On-the-job training offered.
