The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, unload, organize, and stage materials throughout the facility. This position requires strong attention to safety, accuracy, and productivity. Candidates must successfully pass an on-site forklift operating test before beginning the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safely operate a forklift to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the facility. 2. Load and unload trucks, trailers, pallets, and storage areas as assigned. 3. Stage materials and products in designated locations. 4. Transport materials to production, shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas. 5. Inspect the forklift before each shift and report any mechanical or safety concerns. 6. Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines. 7. Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, receiving, and material-movement records when required. 8. Verify product quantities, labels, and locations before moving materials. 9. Keep aisles, loading areas, and workspaces clean and organized. 10. Work efficiently to meet daily production and warehouse goals. 11. Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse employees, and production team members. 12. Assist with general warehouse duties when forklift operation is not required. 13. Perform physical duties such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift. 14. Follow all company policies, procedures, and attendance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
1. Previous forklift operating experience is required. 2. Must successfully pass an on-site forklift test. 3. Must be available to train on first shift before moving to third shift full-time. 4. Must be available to work Monday through Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. 5. Must be able to begin work immediately. 6. Must be able to operate a forklift safely in a fast-paced environment. 7. Must have strong attention to detail and workplace safety. 8. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. 9. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance. 10. Must be able to pass all required pre-employment screenings. 11. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience operating sit-down, stand-up, or other industrial forklifts. 2. Previous warehouse, manufacturing, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience. 3. Experience loading and unloading trucks or trailers. 4. Familiarity with inventory systems, scanners, shipping documents, or warehouse procedures.
