Job Description
Forklift Driver Tuscumbia, Alabama McVantage Packaging specializes in manufacturing, repairing, and recycling wooden pallets and crates servicing the Central-Southeastern U.S. from our plants in Tuscumbia, AL and Nashville, TN. Our Tuscumbia operation includes a scragg mill and various production stations for the manufacture and reprocessing of our lumber products and packaging product components. Both the Nashville and Tuscumbia operations are then able to assemble those products into our pallets, crates, and other products. The Forklift Driver is a critical component of the Hand Build Assembly team at McVantage Packaging, primarily working outdoors in the pallet factory. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift, handling, loading, and unloading pallets, ensuring they are accompanied by correct documentation and meet quality standards.
Required Experience operating a forklift, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. Forklift Certification is preferred but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills. Move pallet components to build areas. move the bundles of lumber used to build pallets to the correct place. Ensure that the lumber bundles are the correct dimensions for what is being built. Core Values
Description of Responsibilities:
Loading Pallets:
Load pallets onto trucks for shipment, ensuring they are securely and correctly placed to meet shipping standards. Coordinate with the supervisor team to confirm shipping schedules and requirements.Documentation Review:
Ensure accuracy and review paperwork associated with outgoing shipments. Maintain records of all activities related to the loading and unloading of pallets. Doublecheck the order when loading pallets to make sure that the correct pallets are loaded. Pallet Inspection forQuality:
Inspect pallets for any damage or inconsistencies before loading and after unloading. Report any quality issues to the supervisor to ensure they are addressed promptly.Required Experience operating a forklift, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
