Job Description

JOB TITLE
Stacker
JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Manually pack or move skids, totes, or other materials or perform other unskilled general labor. Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

% Visual inspects and places the correct skid for proper stacking procedure according to customer standards for shipping purpose. Attach identifying labels to pack cases, or mark them with identifying labels with correct information. Job orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. Record numbers of cases handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets. Move finished goods, stock, and other materials to and from packing area, staging area and production areas, stacking room by hand trucks or fork trucks and other equipment. Maintain a clean and uncluttered area doing production operation. 2. 15% Visual inspect packaging for correct date code and proper taping of case. Notify line operator when job order is near completion and material handler when more skids are needed. Make adjustment on tape machine (height and width of case) and replace tape dispenser when out. Pack skids or totes and re-pack damaged cases if necessary. Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or hand trucks, and return them after use. 3. 5% Responsible for complying with all safety policy and GMP protocols at all times. Performs other duties as needed or assigned by supervisor. ______________________

POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Internal Contacts:
Production Manager, production supervisor, line operator, QC/QA, R D, and maintenance.
External Contacts:
Auditors and customers.
Education Level and Focus:
Proof of high school diploma or equivalent. Willingness to continue education through approved courses or classes that will enhance personal and professional growth.
Years and Type of Related Experience Required:
Manufacturing experience preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal and Communication:
Ability to function with minimal supervision, including the capacity to learn, write, implement, and follow GMP and processing safety rules and other directives. Ability to speak and write English.
Technical and Analytical:
Basic math and writing skills a plus.
Physical Demands:
Physical and mental demands, including standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending, lift 50+ lbs, pushing, pulling.
Work Environment:
Food plant, cold, hot and humid conditions, wet floors, high noise levels, forklift and pedestrian traffic. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
Special Equipment Used:
Hand trucks, hand tape dispenser and other required hand tools.
