By collaborating closely with your colleagues in shipping and receiving, you will ensure that our deliveries remain timely and our stock records stay precise. This position is based at our Los Angeles gateway facility and operates during the day shift. Your Daily Contributions Manage the loading and unloading of transport vehicles while verifying documentation and inspecting freight for any potential damage or measurement issues. Utilize various equipment, including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, riding pallet jacks, and hand jacks, to efficiently transport and palletize goods. Ensure outbound shipments are prepared correctly by matching documentation, labeling freight, and readying ULDs to support smooth logistics. Help maintain high shipping standards by signing off on Bills of Lading and confirming accurate counts to prevent inventory errors. Organize and stage cargo in a secure, systematic fashion using our Warehouse Management System or booking sheets to improve overall facility flow. Uphold quality control standards by following established SOPs, including performing necessary freight recouping or rework. Support a productive environment by performing routine housekeeping to keep the warehouse clean and inventory well-organized. Contribute to team growth by assisting in the training of new personnel and providing input on the refinement of operational procedures. Ensure facility compliance by conducting weekly bond checks, following security protocols, and managing bonded import freight as needed. Requirements for Success Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Demonstrate the physical capability to stand or walk for extended shifts, perform frequent bending and reaching, and lift up to 50 lbs to ensure a safe working environment. Possess at least six months of hands-on experience in a warehouse setting. Show proficiency in the operation of forklifts and riding pallet jacks. Maintain the flexibility to work varying hours and meet the performance benchmarks set for this location. Preferred Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or GED. Prior background working in external warehouses or with freight forwarders. Working knowledge of shipping manifests, delivery orders, and Bills of Lading. Bilingual skills in Spanish. Core Proficiencies Proven background in warehouse operations. Skilled in operating electric pallet jacks.
