3PM - 11:30PM Job Description This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and shipping products in a food manufacturing warehouse environment. The forklift operator ensures all orders are accurate, properly documented, and meet quality and food safety standards while supporting production and warehouse operations. Responsibilities Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments using a forklift and other material handling equipment. Verify shipment quantities and product quality, ensuring all orders are accurate and complete. Report any order discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to supervisors promptly. Complete all required shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading and invoices, accurately and on time. Pick, stage, and load finished products onto trucks in the correct sequence and according to shipping schedules. Store materials and finished goods properly in designated warehouse locations to maintain organization and product integrity. Supply raw materials such as corn and flour to production lines to support continuous manufacturing operations. Package products for shipment, including shrink wrapping, labeling, and boxing, in line with company and customer requirements. Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move products, pallets, and materials throughout the facility. Perform pre-operational and routine equipment checks to ensure forklifts and related equipment are in safe working condition. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in the warehouse and loading docks. Track inventory and shipments accurately, including counting, recording, and updating inventory systems as required. Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, contamination, or other issues and take appropriate action when issues are identified. Maintain accurate records of inventory counts, movements, and shipments to support inventory control and auditing. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and all food safety rules. Clean equipment, storage areas, and warehouse spaces regularly to meet sanitation and food safety standards. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and follow all safety procedures and guidelines at all times. Handle pallets, materials, and products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe palletizing and stacking. Essential Skills Proven forklift operating experience, with at least 1 year of experience preferred. Hands-on experience with sit-down forklift operation in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with stand-up forklift operation and maneuvering in tight or busy warehouse spaces. Demonstrated ability to perform shipping and receiving tasks, including loading, unloading, and verifying shipments. Experience with material handling and palletizing in a warehouse or production setting. Ability to complete shipping and receiving paperwork such as bills of lading and invoices accurately. Knowledge of warehouse operations, including storage, staging, and inventory handling. Knowledge of food safety practices, including GMP and HACCP principles, in a food manufacturing or similar environment. Understanding of OSHA safety rules and ability to follow safety procedures consistently. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials and to work on your feet for extended periods. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a food manufacturing warehouse or similar production environment. Familiarity with tracking inventory and shipments using manual or electronic systems. Ability to inspect incoming and outgoing materials and identify quality or safety issues. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate counts, documentation, and product handling. Organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and support efficient warehouse operations. Comfort using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following sanitation protocols. Willingness to perform regular cleaning and sanitation tasks in support of food safety standards. Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, production staff, and other warehouse team members. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
