$22.00 - $22.75 Forklift Operator Day Shift Monday - Friday 6am to 2:30pm + OT Job Summary Our Client in Fairfield is seeking seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our glass distribution team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Crown forklifts , including stand-up and reach truck equipment, in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, moving, and storing glass products while maintaining inventory accuracy and adhering to all safety standards.
Job Duties:
Operate Crown forklifts , including reach trucks and stand-up lifts, to move glass products throughout the warehouse. Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently while preventing product damage. Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Transport glass materials, crates, and pallets to designated warehouse locations. Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate records of product movements. Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Follow company safety procedures and OSHA regulations when handling fragile glass products. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of forklift experience required . Recent Crown forklift experience required , preferably operating reach trucks and stand-up forklifts. Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or glass handling environment preferred. Ability to read and understand shipping documents, inventory labels, and work orders. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. Ability to safely maneuver and handle large, fragile glass materials. Prior experience in a glass, building materials, or construction supply distribution environment. Forklift certification or ability to become certified upon hire. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners. #1056
